Meet the Team

Carla started her riding career at the age of 10yrs old, 50 years later she is an accomplished FEI level dressage rider and coach. Carla started her riding stable in Victoria, now located in the Cowichan Valley for the last 25 years. Carla’s love for horses started with ponies and bareback riding, hunter/jumper and eventing, soon developing a love for dressage. She has trained numerous horses up the levels, and continues to train horses and her students the art of dressage. Carla has trained with Christine Jacobson, Mette Rosencrantz, Dietrich von Hopffgarten, Leslie Reid, Jodi Morrison, Henk Gljin, and many more. Carla holds an Equestrian Canada Coaching License.

Aleisha started riding horses at 8 years old as a hunter/jumper. Outside of her riding lessons, constantly asking to ride any horse she could get her hands on. At 14 yrs old, she showed up to Alpine aboard her horse, Kite, with a resume in hand and has been part of the team ever since. Aleisha quickly became Carla’s groom and working student, traveling with Carla to clinics and shows on Vancouver Island and the Mainland, gaining knowledge and experience everywhere they went. Aleisha has successfully started and trained many young horses, restarts/refresher horses, and continues to further training on client horses and Alpine’s Show horses. Staying committed to the sport, she is now a very accomplished dressage/hunter/jumper rider, trainer, and a valuable coach.

Katie is Carla’s daughter who has been fully immersed in the horse world her entire life. Riding in pony club and 4-H when she was younger, showing dressage and hunter/jumper. Katie has done lots of starting young horses and ground work. Katie attended Farrier school at KPU, falling in love with the craft. She is Alpine’s onsite farrier as well as having many clients that she travels to for shoeing and trims. She has also successfully started apprentices of her own.

Andrea has been with Alpine for 7+ years guiding all kinds of clients from first time horse riders, to expert equestrians up our gorgeous trail system. Her love for horses and her guests is undeniable and is such an asset to our team. Andrea is often our most requested guide from return clients.
